The Second Level Academic Diploma course in “Product Design” is structured in a two-year study plan. Admission is limited and will be granted to students holding a three-year or five-year degree or an equivalent qualification.

The objective is to train professionals who can manage the complexity of the process of ideation, design, and realisation of consumer products within global decision-making and production mechanisms, integrating typical design knowledge with materials knowledge, and with the ability to innovate processes and products using sustainable materials and advanced technologies. Additionally, they will be encouraged to conduct research and experiment to keep pace with the rapidly changing contexts characterised by high innovation. They will also be able to assess the impact of innovation in terms of environmental and social sustainability. Graduates will be able to apply their knowledge and understanding in complex and multidisciplinary contexts related to the field of product design

At the end of the two-year course a 2nd level Academic Diploma in Multimedia Design is awarded, equivalent to Master's degree EQF7.
